Kimberly TrustyKim can’t draw. Not even stick figures. Instead
of letting this get her down she tries to write poems/plays/stories
that use words to conjure pictures in her readers’ minds. She
is determined to create work that is literary yet accessible. Writers
need a bit of quiet to create, but Kim believes that some of her best
work has arisen through collaboration with other people – both
artists and non-artists. A few occasions in which she’s been able
to put this collaborative spirit to work were at ArtsFest (with Roz
Godard, IKON Gallery, 2005), Word Temple (Birmingham Repertory Theatre,
2005), and the Glasshouse (Chance Brothers Glass Factory Smethwick,
2006).

Kimberly Trusty is a writer who’s interested in notions of guidance,
safety and guardianship, and what these things might mean in an urban
setting. As the Urban Lighthouse’s self-appointed keeper, Kimberly
will engage with visitors and integrate their responses to the exhibit/event
with her own in order to produce new work.
